National Volunteer Week
It's National Volunteer Week, and we are SO lucky to have some of the best volunteers any market could ask for! Rain, snow, sleet or shine — and even through a pandemic — these folks are truly the heart of the market. Ever wonder where that special, happy feeling you get when you step into the Worthington Farmers Market comes from? It all starts with our team, they fill the space with a whole lotta love and laughter! They know the ends-and-outs of the market, and they work tirelessly to help keep it up and running year after year. Make sure to give them a shout out at our last indoor market tomorrow!
NEW! Volunteer of the Year Award
It’s National Volunteer Week and the Worthington Farmers Market is excited to mark this year’s celebration with the establishment of The Janice Taylor Williams Volunteer of the Year Award and bestowing the honor on the namesake herself – Janice “Jan” Taylor Williams.
The 1st Annual Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented to Jan this Saturday, April 25, 10:30 AM, at The Shops at Worthington Place (our last indoor market of the season! We will go outside on May 2!) We invite all our fans, friends, and followers to join us for the presentation.
Jan has volunteered with the market for nearly 15 years and quickly became a go-to resource for patrons and vendors alike. For fellow volunteers, Jan is the “den mother” – always looking out for everyone. She’s hands-down the most awesome traffic counter – red clicker only, please! For many years, Jan was Santa’s favorite elf, reading Christmas stories to the littlest market-goers.
The entire Worthington Farmers Market community – vendors, customers, volunteers, staff – are thrilled to bestow this award on such an outstanding and deserving person.
Read more about Jan’s incredible history with the market and the award presentation plans here.

At Flake & Fold, every croissant is hand-laminated by a single baker, one fold at a time, with care you can taste. Our mini croissant cubes are little pockets of joy — flaky, buttery, and just the right size to satisfy without overdoing it. Perfect for grabbing, sharing, or savoring solo, they’re delicious plain and even more irresistible filled.
Honeyrun Farm, Booth #64, North West Corridor
One question we often get at the farmers market- what types of peppers do you use in your hot honey? The ingredients are pure honey and a variety of chile peppers including ancho chile, guajillo chile, arbol chile, bird’s eye chile, and habaneros. The perfect blend of peppers to give it just enough spice to amp up your pepperoni pizza, bourbon chicken, or stromboli. A little goes a long way!

In Worthington: Sheep on the Village Greens
Sheep Pastures to Progress has officially arrived on the Village Green! As part of America's 250th anniversary celebrations, 29 Worthington community organizations, artists, schools, and cultural groups each designed a painted sheep silhouette that reflects their own identity and spirit, turning Worthington into a walkable gallery that connects our agricultural roots to the vibrant community we are today.
Why sheep? In 1812, Worthington founder James Kilbourn imported 103 Merino sheep to the Village Green. By 1850, Sharon Township was home to more than 2,700 sheep - far outnumbering its roughly 1,000 human residents. That same Village Green is where our story begins again.
From now through October, the flock will travel throughout Worthington's parks, business districts, and civic spaces. Scan the QR code on any sheep for historic narratives, info on the organization, and the story behind each sculpture - curated by the Worthington Historical Society and Experience Worthington.
