WORTH THE EARTH
A month of missions for sustainable citizenship!
March 23 - April 22, 2027
The Worthington Partnership Green Team is launching a new community-wide Earth Month challenge designed to make sustainability local, engaging and fun.
Using the GooseChase app, residents will complete missions throughout the month that encourage them to explore Worthington, take sustainable actions, learn about our environment and
participate in community events. Missions may be as simple as choosing a reusable option or as involved as attending a class, joining a cleanup or participating in a local stewardship event.
How It Works
Participants will join the challenge through GooseChase and earn points by completing missions and documenting their participation. Missions will combine everyday sustainable choices with opportunities to get out into the community. Points will be valued based on complexity of the mission. Special points will be awarded based on creativity.
Prizes and awards will be presented during The Worthington Partnership Green Team’s annual Green on the Green event Saturday May 8, 2027.
Examples under consideration include participating in the Moses Wright invasive plant removal work day, joining a BioBlitz or FLOW river cleanup, using an Okapi reusable cup at a local cafe, trying a Farmers Market reusable container, documenting drops offs such as styrofoam or food waste at the City Recycling Convenience Center, checking out a book on sustainability from a Worthington Library, or attending a Franklin County Conservation District Community Backyard Class.
The result is a month-long challenge that connects residents not only with sustainable actions, but also with the local organizations, businesses and community resources already doing this work in Worthington.
