From Mexican Ceviche to Bahamian Fritters to a Southern Chess Pie - nearly every ingredient comes straight from the market. It’s a night of incredible food for an incredible cause: supporting the Worthington Farmers Market.

Veggie Spy & Versatile Vegan
August brings a cornucopia, not to mention a melonucopia and a tomatocopia of just-picked local and healthy produce. Here are some items you may have missed amongst the abundance!
Fennel – Get that great anise flavor at Franklinton and Cottage Garden
Celery – Feed Me Tomatoes
Thai Basil - Rock Dove
Ground Cherries – These are more akin to cherry tomatoes and bring a hint of pineapple! 9N, Drift Hills, and Raber.
Unsurprisingly, Thai basil is a great fit for Thai dishes, and the Versatile Vegan recommends this Easy Vegan Thai Basil Tofu Stir Fry (aka Pad Krapow): https://makepurethyheart.com/golden-brown-thai-basil.../ You can get the peppers, garlic, and onions it calls from multiple growers at the market!
That wonderful licorice flavor in fennel shines in this vegan keto Grilled Fennel with Tahini Dressing: https://ketovegetarianrecipes.com/grilled-fennel-with.../
Ground cherries are amazing when you remove the outer wrapper and pop them in your mouth for a unique tomato/pineapple flavor. Or try them in this Ground Cherry Salad and Ground Cherry Vinaigrette. You can replace the jicama with kohlrabi from 9N!: https://rawmazing.com/recipe/ground-cherries/
