Moon Maiden Flowers, Booth #71, East New England Ave.

Lisianthus are an amazing cut flower, once exclusively available through wholesale or florists, but now they are widely grown by flower farmers and available at the farmers market! They have been slowly growing in the unheated hoophouse since March. Slowly, very slowly, then, bam! Once summer soltice hits the have a major growth spurt. You have to see these beauties for yourself. See you at the markets! Cheers!

Silver Bridge Coffee, Booth #38, Dewey’s Pizza Plaza

One of our most-loved seasonal coffees has returned for Christmas in July! But don't wait, it's only available through July 31st, and once it's gone, it won't be back until the holiday season.

With notes of chewy caramel cookie, macadamia nuts, and white chocolate, it's the perfect way to bring a little Christmas magic to your summer mornings.

Veggie Spy & Versatile Vegan

The market is bursting with eggplants with multiple varieties and many cool shades of purple. Purple reigns at the market! Another term is aubergine, and in India eggplant is called “The King of Vegetables”. Whatever you call ‘em, eggplants are delicious and versatile and ready for you to take home!

  • Eggplants – Drift Hills, Rock Dove, 9N and others

  • Chanterelle mushrooms – Mayapple

  • Tomatillos – Cottage Garden

  • Sweet corn is still widely available!

The Versatile Vegan suggests a creative use of eggplant in Vegan Eggplant Gyros. They call for parsley which you can get at Toad Hill and tomatoes, which are abundant at the market! https://www.delishknowledge.com/vegan-eggplant-gyros/

Tomatillos are often used salsa verde, but another great option is this Roasted Tomatillo Soup: https://itsavegworldafterall.com/tomatillo-soup/

Chanterelles are a tasty golden-colored wild-foraged mushroom. They’re ideal for these Vegan Mushroom Carnitas: https://veggiesociety.com/easy-vegan-carnitas-recipe/

Market Tote Sale

This limited edition market tote is on sale for just $12!

Made from heavy duty canvas with a reinforced gusseted base (so it stands upright!) and a handy-dandy key clip to boot! This very “on trend” design is in high demand — some versions commanding top dollar online ;-) — but when these one-of-a-kind totes are gone, they’re gone.

Pick up yours tomorrow at the market information booth (corner of High & New England). They make great gifts, too!

And while you’re at it, be sure to grab one of our limited-edition veggie shirts before they’re gone!

Short Sleeve: $25; Long Sleeve: $30 (plus tax).

TOMATO T-SHIRTS ARE SOLD OUT!!!!

Pssst! We’ll be designing our next veggie t-shirt soon for the indoor/winter market. What veggie would you like to see?
